An Evening with the Alligator

After the rainfall over Saturday night, the air quality finally dropped from a red to orange on Sunday. The fires are still active in Boiling Springs, approximately 10 miles from Brunswick Forest but at least the rain helped and the winds have died down.

With the air quality better, I decided to go for a walk in our neighborhood. As I was getting ready a text came through on my phone. It was one of my neighbors down the street informing me that a gator was under a car across the street! I gathered up the important items (drink and phone) and hustled down there. The cops arrived and had already called the wildlife game warden who dispatched some officers to site. It took them approximately 45 minutes to arrive but WOW, what an incredible capture! Although, I must admit, it saddened me to watch the poor alligator as I am sure it was scared, confused and just wanted to be left alone. In the end, the alligator was transported to a nearby river called Town Creek. I am sure he/she is much happier there then under a car in Brunswick Forest.
